Dont you get tired of just eating vegetarian food?

This is a question I get quite often. Well, lets see. On monday I ate potatosoup. On tuesday I are salad with beans, mushrooms and quorn bites (chicken replacement). On wednesday I had a mix of vegetables and eggs. on thursday I had falafel, tomatoes and mushrooms baked in the oven. On Friday I had pizza with spinach, tomato and feta (from pizzahouse). On saturday I had wrap with sundried tomatoes and brie for lunch, and pancakes with syrup for dinner. Sunday I had "dumplings" (Chinese food) which two different sort of fillings. Today I had a big lunchplate at Govindas, so I think just some bread and fruits in the evening. Tommorow, hm,  a good spiced lentilsoup?

You still wonder If I get tired of vegetarian food?

Let he who is without sin throw the first stone...

...says the Bible. For me this means that I am not to judge other people, because I am as full of sin as they are. How come some Christians decided that they can go against this clear speech from the Bible? why is it ok among them to "throw stones" at those who are divorced, drink alcohol, enjoys dancing, listens to heavy metal,  love somebody who is not Christian, love somebody who is Christian but of the same sex as themself.

I never met anyone who is perfect and free from sin. I did however, meet a lot of good people during my 25 1/2 years of living. They are all different, and that`s what makes them awesome and inspiring to spend time with. If you only spend time with people thinking in the same way as you and believing the same as you, then you never get your ideas challenged and you will probably never question your own way of thinking.

Think about that.

thoughts on a friday

Friday a bit over noon. I find myself sitting in one of Copenhagen`s many cafees, enjoying a big glass of chai latte. I like the relaxed atmosphere, comfortable couches, candlelights on the tables. The feeling of freedom, I finished two exams, and there is still two to go (one of them belongs directly with my thesis), so there is still a lot of work to be done. I plan to work with my thesis scetch for a couple of hours today, I just arranged a meeting with my supervisor for next week, which implies that I should have something to present. I still find it a bit scary that for four months I will only work with one project, and nobody else is working with it, so it is not at all like having classes and doing the same assignments and exam papers at least having some kind of resemblence to each other. Now we will all work with completly different things, and you cant complain about the literature because you chose it yourself.

Listening in to people in the cafees conversations. the people on the nextdoortavle is discussing what is the best way of getting buried or cremated. eh..interesting.

now I should do some work here, have a nice weekend!

So I say thank you for the music!

http://lovegodsway.org/GayBands

A friend from my studies showed me this page. I am laughing about it, because for me it is hysterically funny. At the same time it is truly sad that when there are so many people in the world needing help, these Christians in USA chose to set there focus upon hate instead of love.
I sincerely hope they dont have any influence over there.

For me, music is a part of my life. My parents never put restriction to what I could listen to, and I would never do so with my own kids either. Music is as much a part of your education as school is,or so I believe. In the tragic events of the summer, music was something that bound people toghether in Norway. Me, I was climbing the stairs leading up to St.Johannes church in Bergen, shouting "Little people" from Les Miserables, with Ingvild.

Here are some of my favourite music, which according to this webpage is supposed to have a bad influence upon me. I love them as much as I love my gay and lesbian friends, so sorry guys in the USA, you cant control me! ;)

Which kind of music do you like to listen to?

monday monday monday

not to much to tell today, I started writing my exam paper about "The bondage of the will", and wrote around 1000 words, which mean I already did 1/3 of my paper. sad thing is,most of what I wrote today will probably be rewritten tommorow. Oh well, it is always a start.
Johanne made us a delicious potatosoup today, coming home to ready made dinner is a real luxury!

now I will make some food to bring to school tommorow: a salad with normal salad stuff plus beans, fake chicken and mushrooms.

Good night!

todays update

I made a list of blogs you might want to check out. unfortunatly most of them are in Norwegian. but that is a brilliant reason for learning norwegian! the langauge which will one day be spoken by billions of people. eh, stop dreaming now Hilde!

The funny thing about languages is that in the beginning they scared me, but now I seem to have gotten addicted to them, always wanting to learn a new one. weird weird weird, but oh so true. I really want to learn German, Greek and Hebrew, and I want to get better in Latin and Arabic. And I am fascinated by Chinese. Languages opens up to so many new possibilities, for reading, communicating, travelling, understanding.

Which language would you like to learn?

Saturday

When I first started blogging, it seems impossible to stop. which might be a good and a bad thing, you chose. I was reading this article last week, in the University Post, about how much time a regular student spends on different activities during the day. they had one diagram for Danish students, one for exchangestudents and one for international full-degree students. I am in that last category, I suppose. I cant remember how many hours we typically spent on the web, but I found myself fitting very well in. Skyping, facebooking, writing emails, checking newspapers for news from home, Its true that I do use a lot of time on this. And still I actually feel like I want to spend more time on it, because there are people I would like to communicate with more often. maybe spending less time checking random things on facebook and more time writing emails and postcards would be time well spent.

The book for todays reading is called "Som dig selv-en indføring i etik", and is a Danish book about ethics. I am writing my exampaper next week, about modern Christianity (modern as in after 1200) and my chosen literature has do with ethics, Luther and free will. I will get the spesific topic/question on monday, and have until friday to do something productive about it. Like writing 8-10pages which is supposed to make some kind of sense. Sooo, I guess I better start with todays reading. See you around!

blogging again!

I stopped counting how many blogs I have owned. after some time I always find that is feels like a sort of meaningless project, because who is really interested to read my weird thoughts? still, I missed it. So here I am again. We are writing a blog for our studies, but thats not quite the same, there I should actually write something with meaning, while here it can be a bunch of rubbish. Lovely!

reflections

Several people on facebook are posting the link to a youtubevideo called "Why I hate religion but love Jesus". I watched it, and yes, he has some good and true points. my trouble is the tittle. I have a big probleme with the word "hate", and especially coming fra a Christian mouth. not because I believe we are in any way better then other people. But because: Jesus spoke about love, so why should we speak about hate? Does the word hate give us anything? I am still reminded of the words from 22.july tragedy in Norway: If one man could show so much hate, think about how much love all of us we can show together".

The word in a Christian`s mouth should be love, not hate.
